Education
My
education has prepared me for all aspects of children's and educational
media consulting, design, development and evaluation. My advisor
and professor, Dr. Gerald Lesser, Harvard University, was one of
the chief architects of the successful Sesame Street program for
children. At Syracuse University, I was fortunate to have studied
under Dr. Barbara Grabowski, Dr. Ruth Small, Dr. Donald Ely and
others who have made significant contributions to the fields of
instructional design and information studies.

Course covers designing, delivering, and evaluating instruction
and instructional materials that motivate student learning. A variety
of information skills models and national information literacy standards
are addressed. Team-taught with Dr. Ruth V. Small (Spring/Summer
Session 2004, 2005); same course taught in 2003 on campus. Significant
course re-design required to teach course online.
Information
Reporting and Presentation. Three credit course for upper-level
undergraduates. Interdisciplinary perspective on reporting and presentation
of information, drawing on knowledge from fields of information

computer science. (Spring 1998, Fall 1998, Fall 1999, Fall 2000).
Designing
Motivation into Information Skills Instruction. One credit graduate
level seminar for K-12 library media specialists. Introduces a motivational
